My respect for John Reese went up yet another couple of notches today when I read an email he sent out.

It was quite high already …it’s difficult not to respect someone who can make $1,000,000 within a 24 hour period launching one product.

Success stories usually breed respect but it’s one of John’s failures that inspired my respect today: the closing down of BlogRush. I think he proved himself a winner again with the email he sent to everyone on his Blogrush list.

His email had style and to my mind it’s the real winners who treat individual failures in this way. This was the last paragraph:

” …Last but not least I want to say that I hope the failure of this service doesn’t in any way discourage other entrepreneurs from coming up with crazy ideas at 4AM (like I did with this one) and from “going for it” to just try and see if something will work. Without trying there can be no success. And as we all know, ideas are worthless without action. The Web wouldn’t be what it is today without entrepreneurs trying all sorts of crazy ideas.

On behalf of the entire BlogRush team, we wish the best of luck to everyone with their own blogs, ideas, and crazy ventures.

Sincerely,

John Reese”
